Our Mission
Hawthorn Hill Ministries’ mission is to serve community needs through hospitality and support.

Background
Hawthorn Hill Ministries has been in existence since 1978. Our office is located at 3001 Grand Ave in Des Moines. We outreach and serve those in need in our community. We serve very low-income mothers with children, and over 40% of those we serve are of an ethnic status. We are a United Way of Central Iowa affiliated agency and are also a special service of the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church and a National Mission Institution of the General Board of Global Ministries, The United Methodist Church.

The Hawthorn Hill Ministries Board of Directors meets on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 4:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1001 Pleasant, Des Moines, Iowa.
